November marks the quiet arrival of winter in Yellowstone National Park. With all but one road closed, access is limited to the scenic corridor from Gardiner through Lamar Valley to Cooke City, a landscape transformed by snow and silence. Bison and elk endure the cold, wolves roam the valleys in search of prey, and the last trumpeter swans glide across the icy Lamar River.
