There’s nothing quite like standing under the stars in Yellowstone. No streetlights. No city hum. Just the quiet stillness of geothermal steam rising in the distance and above you, the Milky Way arcing across the night.
We’re excited to officially announce that Wildscape Adventure is now offering Yellowstone at Night tours around the new moon, an immersive astrophotography experience built for those who want to photograph the night sky in one of the most remote and awe-inspiring landscapes in North America.
Why Yellowstone?
Yellowstone isn’t just about geysers and grizzlies. It also happens to be one of the best places in the Lower 48 to view the Milky Way. Thanks to its high elevation, dry climate, and limited light pollution, especially in the northern range, you’ll find incredible clarity and depth in your night sky shots.
But what really sets this experience apart is the foreground. Instead of trees or deserts, you’ll be composing shots with:
• Travertine terraces steaming under starlight
• Bison or elk silhouettes grazing under the moon
• Reflections from geothermal pools and river bends
• Vast, open valleys like Lamar and Blacktail Plateau
Whether you’re looking to expand your skills or walk away with portfolio-worthy images, this is an opportunity to photograph Yellowstone in a way few people ever do.
What You’ll Learn
During our night field session, you’ll learn how to:
Plan Milky Way compositions using the PhotoPills app
Use the NPF rule for optimal shutter speed and sharp stars
Work with light and moon phases to create natural, layered exposures
Use single-exposure and stacked techniques to reduce noise
Capture dynamic foregrounds with natural light or moonlight
Process your images in Lightroom and Photoshop for maximum impact

Tours are $895 per person per night, with discounted rates for groups:
2 people: $795 per person
3 people: $695 per person
There’s no minimum group size! Solo signups are welcome.
